Tryout Information for Players and Parents What to bring to tryouts 1) $35 if you have not registered in advance. Tryout Procedures What to tryout for ***Important***: Please register for the highest level of team that you would like your daughter to be evaluated for and that you know that you can commit to. If they do not make that level, they will be placed accordingly on a different level team. All players at Premier make a team from 10-15 years old. We do reserve the right to not form teams at 16-18s if we cannot form a competitive team. If you are trying out for M-Juniors, we only have one team per age-group at 15-18s. Some players may not make a roster. Tryout Selection Acceptance Policy All players will be notified within 72 hours of trying out for the program. Once you have your offer to participate on a Premier team, you will have 10 days to accept or decline the offer. All players must accept or decline within these 10 days. Players that accept their spot in Premier, will be directed to make a $100 deposit to secure their spot on a team. A player’s spot will be not secured until the $100 deposit is made. This deposit can be made online or in person at Premier. Deposits must be made within the 10 day period. After the 10 day period, we will move a player into your spot. The $100 will be deducted from your total team fees. If a player chooses to accept a spot and makes the $100 deposit to the team, and subsequently changes their mind, the $100 is non-refundable. Players will have a second payment due on the parent meeting approximately 2 weeks from tryouts. Have a conflict with tryouts? If you have a conflict with your tryout date/time :1) Currently competing on an NLL 7th or 8th grade volleyball team (BG, Anthony Wayne, Springfield, Rossford, Gateway, Perrysburg, Arbor Hills, McCord, and Timberstone) and your season does not conclude until after October 26th. OHSAA rules do not permit players to participate in tryouts until your school team is done competing. 2) Currently competing on a CYO volleyball team that has a game scheduled at the same time as the Premier tryout time. In the options below, please disregard the note about attending and sitting through the original tryout date. 3) Injured, and cannot physically participate in Premier tryouts (if this applies to you, please email Stephanie at sharms77@msn.com for directions and disregard below). 4) You are in Michigan and your HS coach is not allowing you to tryout. You will need to do one of the following: A) Register and pay for tryouts and email Jodi at JSchr5550@aol.com to schedule a private lesson with one of our instructors at normal lessons prices. If you choose this option, you will pay the $25 tryout fee like all players, and also the normal lesson pricing (see private lesson pricing for details on the Premier web site). If you choose this option, you will be evaluated at the lesson, and you will also need to attend the original tryout date/time and sit and watch. This will allow all players to evaluate tryouts and also allow us to make sure everyone is accounted for on rosters. If you choose this option, the player will be offered a spot at the same time as all other players within 72 hours of the tryout date because we will have an evaluation on the player already. If you are trying out for the National or Asics team, we suggest using this option instead of waiting for make-up tryouts. This will ensure that all players are evaluated equally and offered equally. B) Register and pay for tryouts, and attend the Make-Up Tryout date for your club. Please realize that we will announce our rosters for all teams within 72 hours of the ORIGINAL tryout date. Players that tryout on the Make-Up Tryout dates, will only be offered spots on rosters with openings. We recommend the Private Lesson option first so that the player can be offered a spot at the same time as all other players. If you choose to wait for Make-Up tryouts, please just be aware that spots will have been offered out already and players from Make-Up tryouts will be offered what spots are left. All players ages 14 and below will be offered a spot on a team regardless of what tryout you attend. C) Email Stephanie at sharms77@msn.com before tryouts and ask her to have a staff member come to one of your high school or Junior high school matches to watch you play. We can evaluate you from that match. Please make sure that you have your schedule of matches to email her, so that we can choose one that works with our schedule. This method is fine to use for any player trying out for any level. If you do not want to use the choices A or B, we can certainly come and watch the player at a match if you feel comfortable with us using that as an evaluation of their skills. ** Please note that our hands are tied with the NLL situation, as are all clubs in the area. The OHSSA does not allow players to physically participate in a tryout setting while their season is still in progress, and all public schools are members of the OHSAA. They can attend the tryout, but not physically participate. However, players may attend private lessons at any time or we can come and watch players at any time. The Ohio Valley Region (the region we are governed by) dictates that we offer spots within 72 hours of all tryouts with no exceptions. So, players must be offered spots out right after tryouts. The tryout calendar also dictates when we can have tryouts. So, with the NLL having a late season this year (the first year eve), we are stuck with an odd situation and are trying to work around it as best as we can. If you are having trouble figuring out which levels are available to register for, use this guide below and click on your age-group to see what your daughter can participate in:
