Club Philosophies and Facts

1) Goals of each team and Level
The ultimate goal of the National level teams is to be the most competitive they can be at each event.  In addition to competing at a high level during the season, the National team is trained to compete for their National Championship tournaments at year end.  Although this is the ultimate team goal for each of these teams at this level, the other goals include:  training at a high level in each practice, learning sportsmanship, learning structure and time management skills, and learning about themselves as a person and athlete. The goal for 17s and 18s playing on a team in M-Juniors should be to prepare to play college volleyball.

2) Commitment Policy
M-Juniors has a 100 percent commitment policy in our program. The rules are very structured and the rules are enforced with 100 percent accuracy for each player in the program. We do not allow players to miss ANY playing dates on the schedule for ANY reason if they are on a National Team. If a player misses a playing date on the schedule, they are removed from the team with no refund. We allow seniors to attend Prom and Graduation with no penalty. We have a commitment policy to training as well. We will allow players to miss 6 scheduled training dates throughout the season without penalty. After the 6 missed practices, the player is removed from the team. Players that are on Asics level teams may miss a competition with ample notice to the director. Please see our
attendance policy for all rules in regard to practice and attendance for each team.

3) Training Environment and rules
In M-Juniors, we have a very unique training environment. We Tier train our teams, which is a system that has been developed over time with some of the best training clubs in the United States. The entire Premier organization trains with this philosophy and regime. All of our teams have closed practices to parents or spectators to allow for a consistent and quiet practice environment. In addition to closed practice, we teach the girls responsibility with their belongings, structural rules to make the practice run smoothly, etc. All players wear practice attire, to create a culture environment.

4) Responsibilities outside of training days (17 and 18s and setters)
We do expect for our players to not only train in M-Juniors. We set a higher bar than that for our older girls to prepare them for college. Our college preparation program is by far one of the best an athlete can ever experience. Our college freshman are ultimately prepared to not only train but to compete early in their career after preparing with us their senior year. All players are 17s and 18s are expected to weight train on their off days. In addition to weight training, all of our setters (regardless of age) train extensively on setting in addition to team training sessions. All setters have an additional 30-45 minutes of training with our setter’s coach prior or after practice, each and every practice.

5) Recruiting process and program
The recruiting program in Premier can’t get any better. We are currently #2 in the entire country for recruiting because of our success with placing players in college to play volleyball. This is a huge honor that we take very seriously. The recruiting process is long and tedious, but also a rewarding one at the end. We not only aid in this process, but we do most of the work for you. All players receive a recruiting meeting at the beginning of the season at 17s and the work begins from there. We have sent over 160 players off to play in college and we show no signs of slowing down any time soon!

6) Relationship with University of Michigan
Our relationship with University of Michigan is a simple one. We are supported by the Michigan volleyball program and all of their staff completely. The program was established out of Cliff Keen Arena to give area volleyball players the training environment that they needed to compete at this level.  With M-Juniors having Cliff Keen Arena as a practice facility is by far one of the best qualities of this program. We have an on-going relationship with the coaching staff at UM and also an on-going relationship with the director of facilities on campus. This helps have state of the art equipment for training, consistent and organized practice times and days, and access to the best facilities.

Club Travel procedures

1) How we travel
In M-Juniors we "family travel" our teams. What this means is that all team members are required to stay at the team hotel, but all players stay in their own room with their own families. Outside of competition, we do not chaperone the players. We feel it is the responsibility of the parents to chaperone their own daughters. After competition time or team meeting times, players are free to socialize with their families outside the hotel.  If and when a team has to travel by air to an event, the parent is responsible for booking their own flights to coincide with the travel itinerary and curfew.  Players travel to and from all events with their families or another family in the club.

2) Itineraries
We create detailed travel itineraries for each family prior to an event. This allows everyone to know where and when to meet for meeting or competition time. Each player has curfew of 10:30 pm prior to all competition days in the hotels.
